The focus of fluten is on the exchange of experimental work approaches – a synopsis of the different media in the architecture of the water tower.
The water tower represents a challenge for the artists, who are confronted with the spatial and acoustic conditions. The aim is to create site-specific works of art that can be realised in the festival format. fluten creates the opportunity to look beyond the boundaries of one’s own “scene” and aims to stimulate the art discourse by linking the visual arts with the performing arts, as well as with music and literature – and there are many models of interdisciplinary projects. A variety of cooperation models will make works accessible to the public and a breeding ground will be created for future projects to encourage the collaboration of artists who belong to the fringe/the so-called independent scene to exchange ideas.
All participants have one thing in common: they place the experiment at the centre of their work and challenge the boundaries of their art form, dissolving them, respecting only the commitment to the weight of artistic confrontation as a criterion for their work instead of production or marketing strategies.
